We now know for a fact what movies will take the lead in the Eid El Adha movie marathon. With Beit El Ruby already premiering a couple of days ago, gathering over 10 million Egyptian pounds in revenue in such little time, we’re awaiting the release of the three other films: El Bo3bo3, Mr X, and TAG.

However, while there was an initial long list of movies supposed to make it to the big screen this season, several didn’t make the cut for many reasons. Here is a comprehensive list of the film we could’ve watched next week had they upped their game and wrapped production in time!

This highly anticipated movie was supposed to mark the reunion of Mohamed Henedi and Mona Zaki since their last collaboration in Saeidi Fil Gameaa Al Amerikeya in 1998. The movie was first announced to be in the making over two years ago and was done filming in August of 2021. The reasons behind its delay remain unknown.

Alongside Henedi and Mona, the film stars Lebleba, Reem Mostafa, and Tara Emad. While it was initially meant to feature Asser Yassin, the role was given to Ahmed El Sa’dany instead.

A movie adaptation of an article by journalist Mahmoud Shawky has led to a lot of controversy and lawsuits because of accusations of copyrights and intellectual property. However, it saw the light earlier last month with the release of its official trailer as a promotion to its supposed release on Eid Al-Adha — until it didn’t.

The based-on-true-events story is co-starred by Mohamed Farag and Nelly Karim alongside Bayoumi Fouad, Taha Deskouy and Passant Shawky.

Shamareikh

Another movie that has a released trailer but misfortune with its Eid premiere is Amr Salama’s Shamareikh. With no explanation for why it wasn’t released this holiday, we hope this one isn’t shelved for long.

Starring Amina Khalil, Asser Yassin, Khaled El Sawy, Adam El Sharkawy, and the late Moustafa Darwish, the cast is too promising for this movie to disappoint.

El Sarb

El Sarb has been stuck in production purgatory for a little too long, given that it was supposed to be released by early 2021 before getting multiple release dates over the years.

The star-studded cast includes but is not limited to Ahmed El Sakka, Mona Zaki, Amr Abdel Galil, Mostafa Fahmi, Hend Sabry, Sherif Mounir, Diab, and more. It also features several cameos from Karim Fahmy, Ahmed Hatem, Asser Yassin, and others.

Leaked photos of Mohamed Imam’s extreme physical transformation for this role took the world by storm! He pulled a Matthew McConaughey, losing his infamous bulk for a dad-bod. Even though this movie also has a released trailer, it was postponed for being unable to finish filming on schedule.

The film marks the return of the dynamic duo of Imam and Yasmine Sabry for the third time after Gahim Fel Hend and Leilat Hana Wa Suoor. This time, Maged El Kedwany joins forces with the couple of Wafaa Amer and Hala Fakher.

Ala Zero

Imagine how successful of a year it would have been for Mohamed Ramadan had he released this movie on time, given the booming of Gaafar El Omda just last Ramadan and the commercial success of Harley in Eid Al-Fitr. Even though it was declared that the crew couldn't finish filming due to the tight shooting schedules, social media accused the self-labelled Number 1 of having backed out in fear of competition.

Ala Zero marks the first on-screen encounter between Ramadan and megastar Nelly Karim. It will also feature Sherif Salama, Jomana Morad, Khaled El Sawy, and Khaled Anwar.
