This is a call for all comics lovers here in Egypt. Once again, CairoComix Festival is back for the 5th year in a row to empower the independent art movement in not just Egypt, but the entire region. The awaited event will take place from the 1st to the 3rd of November at Mahmoud Mokhtar Museum.

So, what to expect from the 3-day event?

3 Exhibitions

Benoît Guillaume's Exhibition

Guillaume is a French artist known for street drawings of his hometown, Marseille, and other cities he's been to. This edition, he'll be exhibiting his drawings for Tetouan and Algiers.

Paul Pope's Exhibition

The winner of four Eisners, specialized in comics and screenprinting, will be exhibiting his artwork at CairoComix this year. The American artist had work done for both DC and Marvel, so you really don't want to miss his exhibition.

Flash

This exhibition will display the iconic characters of 1989's popular comics in attendance of the creator, Khaled El Safty.

The Indie Square

This is where independent artists will be exhibiting and selling their original artwork as well as some limited edition publications. 

Guests

Local and international artists will come together to celebrate art and take part in the event's activations. Those include big names like Josh O’Neill, Paul Pope, Tracy Chahwan, Nuria Tamarit, Benoît Guillaume, Tawfik, and more.

Workshops

Throughout the three days of the event, hardcore comics enthusiasts can get to witness the production stages of a comic. Artists will be sharing their expertise, showing those who are eager to learn everything from idea to execution. Nuria Tamarit and Tawfik will be giving workshops on day 1, Paul Pope and Tracy Chahwan will be giving theirs on day 2, and on the final day, Benoît Guillaume will be giving one as well.
