Renowned actress and member of 80’s famous pop band 4M, Maha Abou Oaf has returned to our television screen with her new series Al Dayra, which aired on the 2nd of January. The 45-episode drama, created by Mohamed Abd El Moaty and directed by Ahmed Samir Farag, is set around the life of a psychiatrist whose life is split between treating patients with depression and his parents’ numerous struggles.
Al Dayra also stars a reputable cast of actors including Ahmed Salah Hosni, Iman El Aasy and Emad Rashad, and will be the first appearance for Maha Abou Oaf on television since Ard Gaw in 2017, and her first performance since starring in the theatrical comedy show Three Days In Sahel with Mohamed Henedy and Bayoumi Fouad. The show was indefinitely terminated after the Coronavirus outbreak in February.
“I’m very glad to have worked with this cast and team,” says Abou Oaf exclusively to Cairo Gossip. “We were in good spirits when we were together and had a mutual understanding with one another. The location was great, and the whole experience was very professional. Having to work during the pandemic, everything was sanitised and under control, and we were always wearing masks unless shooting. We were all responsible, and thankfully none of us caught the virus. It is important to stay safe, and hopefully, everyone is.”
Watch El Dayra on El Haya El Hamra TV channel every day at 9:00 PM.
