Who said you need to leave Cairo to find snow, obstacles, and a serious adrenaline rush? Ski Egypt just hosted the fifth edition of its Ice Warrior Challenge, turning its indoor snow park into one giant frozen obstacle course for a day of fitness, competition, and plenty of action. And Cairo clearly came ready for the challenge. The 2026 edition welcomed around 800 participants and more than 1,000 visitors, bringing everyone from fitness enthusiasts and adventure seekers to young adults and families together for a very different kind of weekend.

Cairo’s Warriors Took on the Snow

This wasn’t exactly your average workout. For the fifth edition, Ski Egypt’s snow park was transformed into an obstacle arena packed with challenges designed to put participants’ strength, endurance, agility, and determination to the test. Throw in the snow, live competition, adrenaline, and an energetic crowd watching it all unfold, and the result was somewhere between a fitness challenge and an adventure experience, all without leaving Cairo.

800 Participants Stepped Up to the Challenge

While around 800 people actually took on the course, the experience wasn’t limited to those competing. More than 1,000 visitors made their way to Ski Egypt for the event, with spectators following the action, enjoying the entertainment, and sticking around for the prize-giving moments. The mix of competitors and visitors turned the challenge into a wider gathering for Cairo’s fitness, sports, and adventure communities. It also gave plenty of people a reason to pull out their phones. With challenges unfolding across the snow park and an audience following the action, the fifth edition created plenty of moments that extended beyond the course and onto social media.

Five Editions In, Ice Warrior Is Still Raising the Bar

The Ice Warrior Challenge has now reached its fifth edition, continuing Ski Egypt’s push to use its snow-filled setting for more than skiing and traditional winter activities. Mahmoud Youssef, Country Manager of Majid Al Futtaim Egypt and Lebanon, described this year’s challenge as an example of how Ski Egypt’s snow environment can become a setting for movement, competition, and shared experiences. He also highlighted the changing way people approach leisure today, with audiences increasingly looking for experiences that are active, social, and memorable. Ice Warrior brings those elements together by combining sport and entertainment in one setting and giving visitors the chance to participate rather than simply watch from the sidelines.

Definitely Not Your Typical Cairo Weekend

Between 800 competitors, more than 1,000 visitors, a snow-covered obstacle course, and five editions of the challenge, Ice Warrior has carved out its own space on Cairo’s fitness and entertainment calendar. For Ski Egypt and Majid Al Futtaim, the latest edition also continues a wider focus on interactive indoor sports and entertainment experiences that respond to the way audiences want to spend their free time. 

And for everyone who actually tackled the course? Well, surviving an obstacle challenge in the snow is certainly a more interesting answer to “What did you do this weekend?” than brunch.
