Some Egyptian content creators have gained considerable momentum across TikTok, causing a fuss across social media. These unusual TikTokers are gaining more followers and views for making a voice for the Egyptian street and giving voice to the voiceless.

1- El Sweesy

El Sweesy is an Egyptian TikToker who became famous for immigrating to Italy at a young age and marrying an Italian woman. Despite illegally immigrating, El Sweesy gained momentum among Egyptians for his humour, morals, funny videos with his family and tips for young Egyptian men.

2- Souzy El Ordonia

Souzy is a teenage girl known for her unique humour mixed with boldness. She went viral for her video criticising her dad, and although she got arrested before, people adored her unique humour and true representation of lower-class girls to the point that the Egyptian actress Huda Al-Mufti hired her to train in the role of a lower-class girl.

3- Om Sagda

An Egyptian woman from a working-class background is creating very spontaneous content on Instagram. She talks about her daily problems in a funny, loud way. She became famous because of her natural style, which resonates with a large segment of society.

4- Om Nour

She was a working-class woman who became famous for her unconventional cooking videos, such as grilling kofta on an iron. Her funny, spontaneous style attracted a large audience, and she became one of the most well-known faces on TikTok.

Many may disagree with the content of these influencers or even argue over the fact of calling them “influencers” in the first place. However, they may have succeeded in representing the dream of the working-class majority. Many of these influencers have faced criticism due to their content, but they have managed to build a large audience. Their content reflects the reality of many Egyptians and offers an honest (though sometimes shocking) view of daily life.
