On Saturday, the 21st of December, Egyptian international football player Mohamed Salah led the Liverpool FC team to win the FIFA Club World Cup, after defeating the Brazilian Flamengo FC team. The match, held at El Khalifa Stadium in Qatar, was concluded with a score of 1-0, thanks to Roberto Firminio's goal in extra time.
Salah's killer performance in the championship landed him the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup's Player of the Tournament title.
It's also noteworthy that the Egyptian King was named FIFA's Man of the Match after beating Monterrey FC 2-1 earlier in the tournament.
Throughout Liverpool FC's history, this is considered the first time for it to win this tournament, as it lost the final match against São Paulo FC back in 2005.
2019 was indeed a lucky year for Salah as it was paved with success and notable achievements. Earlier this year, Salah earned the fifth place on the Ballon d'Or's list for the best players in the world for 2019. He also won another Premier League Golden Boot and was named “Man of the Year” by GQ Middle East.
