The British Open championship is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the game. This year it started on the 20th of May and will end on the 26th. Our players have taken over the game since the beginning, with 12 of them participating in the men’s edition. Those include Ali Farag, the world’s number one, and Mohamed El Shorbagi, the world’s number two. Meanwhile, in the women’s edition, there were 11 participants including Raneem El Weleily, the world’s number one, and Nour El Sherbini, the world’s number two.
“Ali and Raneem kept pushing me on. They gave me the motivation to try harder after the second game. I don’t know if I wasn’t trying hard enough”, Nour El Tayeb said after she qualified for the quarterfinals.
We can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next. We will surely fill you in with the updates, but for now, let’s wish them good luck!
