Dear travellers, we have some good news for you. EasyJet is going to start sending flights to Egypt for the first time ever as of next year, 2020. The internationally acclaimed holiday provider’s flights are expected to be targeting Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh destinations.
According to Egypt Today, strategy and sourcing director, Paul Bixby, said, “We will offer a curated selection of hotels that we know are popular in Hurghada and Sharm ElSheikh entering the summer in 2020”.
Plans for Sharm El Sheikh seem very promising these days. First, the UK lifted the safety ban and resumed flights to the Egyptian travel destination favoured by the Brits. Then, earlier this week, expansions for the Sharm El Sheikh airport were announced, which will increase the annual passenger capacity from 7 million to 9 million. Finally, the governor of South Sinai, Khaled Fouda, recently revealed that the new Cairo-Sharm El Sheikh road is officially open. Using the 342 km-long highway, travellers will only take four hours to get to Sharm El Sheikh from Cairo.
