After getting so excited that Egyptian superstar Amina Khalil will be joining the Ramadan marathon this year with a 15-episode TV series, we were bummed after hearing that it’s been postponed. None of the cast or crew members had revealed any details about its airtime until Khalil announced the big news.

“Special thanks to everyone who asked and cared about Leih La2’s schedule,” Amina took to Instagram through the stories feature. “Unfortunately, due to lack of time and because we had to be up to the finest standards, we’ve decided to postpone premiering the series until after Ramadan,” she continued.

Amina also said that as soon as they settle on a final date, she’ll announce all the details, adding that she’s not upset and it’s probably for the best.

Leih La2, which was supposed to premiere on the 8th of May on MBC Masr, is Khalil’s debut experience as the sole lead actress. She plays the role of Alia, a girl who risks it all and decides to control her own destiny after running away from an arranged marriage.

Alongside Khalil, the cast also includes Shereen Reda, Hala Sedki, Mohsen Mohieldeen, Hany Adel, Mariam El Khosht, Nadine Farag, Ahmed Hassanein, and more. Leih La2 is written by a workshop, supervised by Mariam Naoum, and directed by Mariam Abou Ouf.
