The award-winning Egyptian film, Between Two Seas, finally drops its official song, Akwa Mel Awil, and it’s heartwrenching, yet empowering, like the film. Singing the powerful lyrics are none other than Hany Adel and Fatma Adel, who also plays the lead role in the movie.
Between Two Seas tells the story of Zahra, who struggles in a fight for her daughter’s rights, after being involved in a tragic accident. The movie portrays the obstacles and societal barriers that Egyptian women face, especially those in underprivileged and rural areas.
Along with Adel, the cast features Yara Gubran, Tharaa Jubail, Mahmoud Fares, Arfa Abdel Rassoul, and Lobna Wanas. Between Two Seas is directed by Anas Tolba, written by Mariam Naoum, while the script is written by Amany El-Tunsi and Karim Dalil.
The film will be available in movie theatres starting October 16th.
