Waiting for the new season of El-Ekhteyar every Ramadan has become something of a habit, right? And for this season, our wait was worth it as the show will discuss what happened to Egypt after the January Revolution of 2011, shedding light on past events we didn’t know of. Plot aside, though, there are many great things about the third season of El-Ekhteyar that we need to talk about. One of them is, of course, its casting. So, allow us to fully appreciate the casting of the following actors!
1- Yasser Galal as President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi
The talented actor Yasser Galal has outdone himself with this role. It goes without saying that the showrunners also made some serious effort to make Yasser Galal look a lot like President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi back when he was a military officer. Yet, the most astonishing part is Yasser Galal’s facial expressions and tone of voice, which make him like an exact replica of the real deal! We don’t know how he prepared for such a role, but it’s extremely impressive.

2- Khaled El-Sawy as Khayrat El-Shater
It’s a fact that Khaled El-Sawy has the power to nail the portrayal of any villainous character. After a long career of portraying fictional bad people, he went for the role of a real vicious man who was a huge part of the Muslim Brotherhood. Only Khaled El-Sawy’s eyes can show you what true evilness looks like. How can someone be a sweetheart in real life and act as a terrible human being on the screen? No one knows how to switch up like that except El-Sawy and, for that, we will always be impressed by him!

3- Ahmed Bedeir as Field Marshal Mohamed El-Tantawy
Replicating the presence of a man who did a lot for his country must be a difficult task, but not for the iconic Ahmed Bedeir! The masterful actor gives the role his everything, and he reminds us of the glories of the deceased Field Marshal El-Tantawy. We would also like to shout out to the make-up artists who made him look so much like the real-life man.

4- Bayoumi Fouad as Saad El-Katatni
Our hilarious actor Bayoumi Fouad has shown us something we would have never expected, as we usually see him in comedic roles. His casting was incredibly unpredictable, yet it was truly impressive! Not only does Fouad look a lot like Saad El-Katatni in 2012, but he also did his best in portraying him flawlessly on-screen.
