If you were a teenager in Egypt between 1996 and 2014, then you most definitely remember the iconic TeenStuff Magazine. After a decade-long hiatus, the magazine brought back the good old times and nostalgia by collecting and releasing online every issue free of charge.
What TeenStuff Did Recently

After decades of pioneering in printed lifestyle journalism, the beloved magazine had to discontinue publishing due to a decline in public interest in print media and the well-known shift to digital formats. However, after 11 years, TeenStuff's founder, Manal El Mahdy, decided to give a virtual hug to the teenage years of many Egyptian generations by collecting and releasing every single TeenStuff issue from the beginning through 2014.
Reviving A Golden Era for Current Adults

All the issues have been released now on a seamless website that we can all easily access and browse. This has sparked a lot of excitement online from past readers and participants in the magazine. Not only have they expressed massive excitement and gratitude for the news, but the strongly bonded fandom has collaborated with the editor to collect the magazine's issues by connecting and sending them to TeenStuff's Facebook account.
Between Concrete Numbers and Reality

The digitally expressed nostalgia and excitement show that, despite statistics and studies proving a lack of interest and a shift in public demand, what TeenStuff provided was still widely loved and missed by so many. Maybe it even represents an existing and unfulfilled need for current youth in Egypt to find space and community for self-expression that voices their personalities and interests to other teens.
What Did TeenStuff Magazine Do Anyway?

If you weren't a teenager during that era or missed it for any reason, TeenStuff was a monthly best-selling youth magazine in Egypt. For ages 16 to 21, the magazine specifically published submissions from teenage readers in literature, arts, pop culture, sports, and poetry. It encouraged teens to express themselves and their interests publicly to a broad audience, fostering their creativity and exploration. Unfortunately, the magazine had to discontinue after its 200th issue back in November of 2014. However, the good news is that you can now check all the magazine's issues on the new website.
