Death is an occasion no one should disrespect—that’s just a fact. So when Egyptian actresses Elham Shahin and Ghada Ibrahim were at each other’s throats at the late Samir Sabry’s funeral a couple of days ago, all Egyptians were shocked.
However, we can’t say we were that surprised, considering the history the two actresses share. Yes, you read it correctly. These actresses haven’t had the best relationship. What exactly happened at Samir Sabry’s funeral?
Everything began with a bus, specifically the bus designated to take actors belonging to the Actors’ Syndicate to the cemetery in Samir Sabry’s native Alexandria. Actress Ghada Ibrahim wanted to board the bus but wasn’t able to because, according to her, actress Elham Shahin and TV host Poussy Shalaby banned her from doing so.
Oddly enough, Elham Shahin defended herself by denying everything, saying that she doesn’t even know who Ghada Ibrahim is. That was awkward because Ghada and Elham’s history goes way back. Poussy Shalaby weirdly said nothing about this whole incident.
Regarding Ghada Ibrahim’s behaviour and the fact that she hurled multiple insults at the actress and the TV host, the Actors’ Syndicate suspended her, thereby prohibiting her from seeking work.

What started this tension between the two actresses?
In 2004, Ghada Ibrahim got divorced from her first husband, citing an extramarital affair as a reason for the split. And it didn’t end there—apparently, the actress indirectly mentioned that Elham Shahin had a hand in breaking up the marriage. Elham didn’t respond to the accusation, and the issue swiftly died out.
In another instance, tensions rose again between the actresses when Ghada Ibrahim faced some jail time and reportedly said she believed Elham Shahin was behind her allegedly false imprisonment. A huge claim to make, we know! But with the reason of Ghada’s imprisonment being some shady business, we don’t understand how Elham could have been involved. But if she was, then there’s nothing scarier!
With all this drama tying the two actresses together, it’s a little hard to believe Elham Shahin doesn’t even know who Ghada Ibrahim is, don’t you think?
