As a well-known American TV show, the Egyptian Suits adaptation has been anticipated for a while. The series tells the story of lawyer Harvey Specter, who looks for a trainee lawyer to work with him in one of the biggest, most prestigious law firms in New York. And we see this figure realised in Mike Ross, a college dropout who dazzles Harvey with his wit and intelligence, prompting his hiring. Throughout the show, the duo handle cases while trying to hide Mike’s educational status in a law firm that only hires Harvard graduates.
Suits (in Arabic) is an exact replica of the original American show, with Asser Yassin playing the egotistical Zein (AKA Harvey Specter) and Ahmed Dawood playing college dropout Adam (AKA Mike Ross), who later becomes Specter’s right-hand man in all his cases.
So, what did we think about the show?
Okay, maybe we only saw one episode of Suits (in Arabic), but since the trailer came out, we’ve had apprehensions about the show not being as great as the American version. That said, Asser Yassin’s Zein/Harvey Specter wowed us in ways we couldn’t believe he could.
Much like the original show, the Egyptian adaptation started very neatly with us seeing the many people getting busy working in the prestigious law firm, which is also an exact replica of the original law firm (kudos to the props department on that front!). Meanwhile, Ahmed Dawood’s Adam is seen doing illegal work to get money before running into an interview held by Zein and instantly getting hired for the job—all because of his excellent knowledge of the law and extreme wit.
We were a little worried at first, but it only took an interesting beginning to make us excited to see the rest of this story. We hope that none of our worries about Suits (in Arabic) being a lifeless copy of its original material come true because we love seeing Asser Yassin and Ahmed Dawood sharing a screen.

Let’s talk about the characters
There is no doubt that this casting is really on point. Not only are the actors are phenomenal, but they also flawlessly embody their characters. We never thought we’d see Asser Yassin tackling such a layered role this effortlessly.
Other characters we loved seeing portrayed were Farida (AKA Jessica Pearson), played by Saba Mubarak, and Qadry (AKA the hugely frustrating Louis Litt), played by Mohamed Shahin.

We do know two things, though—and that is Ahmed Dawood as Adam is too good to be true, and Reem Mostafa is the PERFECT Donna. We’re simply amazed by the influence she had with the little screen time she had.
