With Jordanian origin, the legendary underground rock band Jadal has this special bond with its Egyptian audience, with reciprocated love and loyalty to its fanbase in Egypt. In the last decade, Jadal has always loved coming to Egypt and performing their best all over Cairo. The band has always offered their loyal Egyptian fans the best of their guitar solos, Mahmoud Radaideh's high tunes, and beautiful melodies.
This year, Jadal comes bearing a few gifts to Cairo by holding over five performances in May alone, which marks a massive return to Cairo's concert scene. This isn't the first time Jadal has given the Egyptian audience more than they could ever ask for; over the years, Jadal has held some of their best performances in Cairo, showing and emphasising their deep love for the Egyptian crowds and vibes. Here are five outstanding times when Jadal performed in Egypt, and we absolutely loved it.
Jadal Giving Cairo their Longest Performance in 2017
Right from the start, the Egyptian underground fans were a loyal sidekick to Jadal's bloom and success in the rock scene. In August 2017, the Egyptian crowd witnessed a concert like no other on the grounds of the Greek Campus in the heart of Downtown Cairo. This concert marked the first of Jadal's live performances after the Million album's official release. Jadal has played 26 songs in around 3 hours, marking the longest live performance of Jadal's band.
The concert's slogan of Sotko A3la Mn El Sama3at came to life with the unparalleled energy of this crowd, to which Jadal still refers to this day as unmatched vibes. This performance was also the origin of the legendary clap in Million's live performance; the clap has since become a default of every live performance of this song.
Jadal Giving their all in a Short Performance in 2018
Back when underground music festivals were the thing in Egypt, Music Park was the Egyptian Coachella for underground music. It always offered Egyptian audiences an irresistible musical line-up that couldn't be found elsewhere. This specific edition in October 2018 offered the audience a memorable music night with a blend of live tunes from Massar Egbari, Akher Zapheer, Ghaem Gozi, Yazan Heifawy, and Jadal.
In that concert, Jadal didn't discriminate against a shorter segment; the band still got to the stage and gave their all. They performed all of their best songs with the same hype and energy they give every single time in Cairo and became a remarkable part of the legendary Music Park.
Mahmoud Radaideh Giving Away a Hit Song to Cairo in 2019
That year, along with 2018, multiple performances were held by Jadal and Mahmoud Radaidah all over Cairo, strengthening their bond and wholesome connection to their loyal Egyptian audience. One was Mahmoud Radaideh's concert in March 2019 at 3elbet Alwan in the heart of Zamalek.
This intimate, small concert may have seemed like a casual performance. However, in case you didn't know, that night marked Radaideh's first live performance of Jadal's hit song Hamm O Bala. In that cosy area, Radaideh chose Cairo and his audience in 3elbet Alwan to be the first witnesses of this beautiful melody months before the song's official release in 2020.
Jadal Clashing Sounds with West El Balad at Red Bull in 2019
During the extraordinary musical festival of Red Bull Sound Clash, as a part of its second edition in Egypt, which took place in April of 2019, Jadal and West El Balad were paired together on the second night of the festival. They gave the Egyptian crowd the performance of a lifetime.
The bands weren't just performing their legendary discography in this ultimate showdown. Each band took turns in this artistic competition to unleash their creativity in the art of live performances by doing the challenges of Red Bull Sound Clash and letting the audience decide who's best. Jadal performed one of their songs in West El Balad's style, performed one of West El Balad's songs, and vice versa. Both bands performed an awesome cover of the international hit Adventure of a Lifetime by Coldplay. The concert marked one of their top and best performances in Cairo, and you can check the highlights of this performance on this link.
Jadal Fel Sakia in 2023
In August of 2023, Jadal brought back its exceptional vibes with a huge crowd in El Sawy Culture Wheel, with a performance that brought up so many emotions and beloved memories. This concert stood out as a remarkable revival of Jadal concerts' energy before 2020, especially in Cairo.
The crowd was filled with vibrant souls singing along and reliving their love and enthusiasm for Jadal and rock music. This performance has also marked what seems to be the start of an entertainment partnership between Jadal and El Sawy Culture Wheel, with two big concerts taking place this May.
JADALIDA in 2021
Live performances were not Jadal's only way of showing love to Egypt; in 2021, Jadal released a sweet cover of Dalida's Helwa Ya Baladi. As much as this cover was a highly appreciated gift to all of Jadal's fans, it also came as a very dear and special tribute to this Egyptian song and Dalida's deep admiration for Egypt. The song can be streamed on YouTube from this link, and it’s also available on multiple streaming platforms.
