This week, British-Egyptian photographer, Yosra El-Essawy, passed away at the age of 33 after a long battle with esophageal cancer.

El Essawy, who was born to Egyptian parents in London, is best known for being the official photographer of Beyonce's The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, which began in April of 2013 and ended in March of this year.

But El Essawy's prolific work has seen her photography cover the January 25th Revolution and high-end weddings, as well as having held a 2011 exhibition in London called “Eye.Soul: A Constant Work In Progress.”

Essawy documented her battle through her Instagram account and Beyonce released a statement through her official website in memory of someone she came to consider a friend.

“You will forever be embedded in the hearts of all you have encountered. May you rest in perfect peace,”
