Cruise has outdone himself again with an incredible action thriller of his own stunts, with several funny bits and some nods to the previous MI movies we all know and love. For those still catching up with the film series, let us rank the best Mission Impossible for you, in case you want a fun binge-marathon before catching Dead Reckoning in cinemas.

The fourth instalment, mostly shot in Dubai, is a fan-favourite for a variety of justifiable reasons: Simon Pegg being his funny self, the usual stunning action sequences with nerve-wracking moments, and last but not least, Tom Cruise dangling out of the tallest building in the world: Burj Khalifa. We all remember this scene which has become a cinema classic!
2- Mission Impossible 1

The first films of a franchise are almost always impressive, and Mission Impossible 1 is no exception. The first was an amazing action-packed movie that introduced us to Ethan Hunt, along with his first harrowing brushes with death, witty mission tactics, and some of the best team exchanges. It also got us addicted to the iconic Mission Impossible score!
3- Mission Impossible 5: Rogue Nation

The fifth instalment is undoubtedly one of the best in the franchise, mainly because of its terrifying villain Solomon Lane, played fantastically by Sean Harris. MI5 also introduces his baddie female comrade Elsa (played by Rebecca Ferguson), who became his female equal for succeeding films. It is also worth reminding you that Tom Cruise held his breath underwater for six full minutes in this one, breaking the Hollywood record until Kate Winslet topped it in Avatar: The Way of Water!
4- Mission Impossible 6: Fallout
via IMDb
This one is worthy of making this list for several reasons: awesome action stunts in some of the most beautiful cities in the world where Tom Cruise hangs out of a jet plane as it takes off, and a thrilling fighting scene of Ethan Hunt versus Superman himself — but with a moustachioed Henry Cavill. Talk about a real multiverse!
