Egyptian fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, rejoice! On March 30th, Marvel is blessing us with another TV show about one of its most interesting anti-heroes, Moon Knight. Not only does the story of this comic book series have Egyptian roots, but it is directed and co-produced by our very own Mohamed Diab, whose award-winning work you’ll be familiar with if you’ve seen Cairo 678, El Gezira 2, and Eshtebak.

And that’s not all! The show’s crew will include Egyptian make-up artists as well as accomplished composer Hesham Nazih.

What is Moon Knight all about?

According to IMDb, the Moon Knight series follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee and former US Marine, who becomes plagued with blackouts and distorted memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder (AKA D.I.D) and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while diving into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt. Sounds thrilling, doesn’t it??

Who will be in Moon Knight?

Oscar Isaac leads the show as Steven Grant/Moon Knight, whom you most likely know from Star Wars, X-men Apocalypse, and Dune, as well as Hollywood veteran Ethan Hawke in an unknown villain role. Moon Knight is expected to feature some of Ancient Egypt’s beauty and glory as an essential part of its plot. It is also likely to be a massive international hit and an important part of the upcoming phase 4 of the MCU saga. Now, that is a must-watch!
