Egypt has welcomed some pretty big names from the music industry over the years, ranging from the likes of Kylie Minogue and Akon, to one of the most recent, Yanni.

But if you thought that your parents went nuts over the Greek god of music, you haven't seen anything yet, because on October 21st, award-wining soft-rock ballad king, Michael Bolton, is set to touch down in Cairo for a special performance at the Cairo Fair Ground's RMC Theatre in Heliopolis.

He might have lost the long, flowing locks that made him a certified eighties heartthrob, but Bolton can still set fire to many a loin with a murmur of one note.

Having first made his name on the music scene in 1975 as a solo rock artist, he quickly came to front hard rock band, Blackjack, who once opened for Black Sabbath.

It wasn't till the late eighties, though, and a dramatic style change that Bolton came to be the pop-rock ballad connoisseur we know today. Since then, he's has sold over 75 million records and won four Grammy awards.
