The Plot of The Affair

You may think the title speaks for the plot of the show. But we have to give credit where it’s due; The Affair is memorable for its narration from two differing points of view. A story of infidelity is untold from two perspectives: Omar’s, a writer and professor who is married with three children, and Hala’s, a waitress living in Hurghada who is in an unhappy marriage.

The series is additionally intriguing for its thriller genre. Both characters must disclose their recounting of events to an unconvinced police officer solving a murder mystery. This on-edge storytelling had us hooked enough to watch the series’ available episodes in one sitting!

Our Thoughts on the New Series

Despite our love for the widely adored actor, we’re not biased in saying Khaled El Nabawy displayed brilliant acting across the series. The same goes for Aicha Ben Ahmed, who is now one of our favourite non-Egyptian actors following her outstanding performance.

The Affair mustered our every emotion and had us on the verge of tears once. And although we’ve only watched half of the show, we can’t imagine being more hooked on its events than we already are! We additionally loved witnessing a man’s thought patterns and how they recall events differently from women.

Overall, we think the show is impressive and recommend you watch it. Trust us; you will not be wasting your time following Hala and Omar’s story!
