But, while not every new season turns out a smash hit, even for an international show, many productions live up to expectations and sometimes exceed them. So, we’ve compiled a list of our favourite Egyptian TV show franchises that have proven popular with every newly released season!

1-     Leh Laa?!

With season three of Leh Laa?! coming out soon, we are reminded how much we love this franchise! Each season features a different cast and plot but follows a social-comedy context written and directed by the talented Mariam Naoum.

2-     Abo El Arosa

Following the life of Abdel Hamed (Sayed Ragab) and his family, this social comedy series was adored by all across its three seasons. Like many, we eagerly hope the rumours about a potential new season are true!

3-     El Kebeer Awi

Our favourite Ramadan sitcom is undoubtedly El Kebeer Awi, with its seven successful seasons. Ahmed Mekky and the cast gave it their all, portraying some bizarre Saeedy characters in the most humorous way. Though some seasons weren’t as popular as others, this TV show has a place in every Egyptian’s heart!

4-     Al Le’ba

The game challenges of Mazo and Waseem have yet to crown a winner, even with season four of the series premiering soon. All three seasons of Al Le’ba were met with success, with everyone eager to know how things would end for the opposing teams!

5-     Mawdou Aeli

One of Shahid’s most recent successful productions is Mawdou Aeli, with two hit seasons and another one in the making. The iconic family-oriented series revolves around the up-and-down life of Ibrahim (Maged El Kedwany) and his family.

6-     Hekayat Banat

Hekayat Banat’s five seasons deal with the lives of four girls, shedding light on their relationship with their families, private lives, and dreams and aspirations. This show was most popular among ladies and led conversations whenever a new season was released!
