In Egypt’s fast-evolving media landscape, a new generation of media creators is emerging, not from traditional film schools or production houses but from the vibrant and chaotic world of TikTok. With millions of users across the country, TikTok has become more than just a social media app; it’s a launchpad for young creatives, many of whom are now making their mark in the world of advertising.
TikTok: The New Creative Studio
With minimal equipment and maximum creativity, Egyptian TikTok creators have been experimenting with storytelling in bite-sized formats. From comedic skits and cinematic transitions to social commentary and visual poetry, these videos are training grounds for young talent to develop a unique visual voice.
A New Path into the Entertainment Industry
Egyptian advertisers have traditionally relied on big-budget TV ads and celebrity endorsements; however, the landscape is changing rapidly. As younger audiences shift to digital platforms, brands are pursuing the authenticity that TikTok creators offer.
Instead of waiting years to get into a production house or direct their first commercial, these young Egyptian creators are building their own portfolios online, and agencies have started to take notice. Some of them are now working with creators who are barely out of university or have never attended at all yet have millions of views to their names.
Mohamed Moula
Mohamed Moula, known for his creative and engaging content on TikTok, has been involved in various advertising campaigns, including Vodafone’s, and participated in the 2025 Lel Azkeya2 Fakat event, in addition to his live performances and talks.
Sola Omar
Sola Omar has also made significant strides from TikTok to advertising, such as Sherry&Berry and Molped, in addition to acting in several roles, including Mawdo3 3a2ely and Na2l 3aam.
Marwan Serry
Besides being a renowned creator in various fields, such as entertainment and football, Marwan Serry participated in ElAraby ad during Ramadan 2025, in addition to his YouTube creations and ownership of Dagenham & Redbridge FC, before withdrawing due to concerns about discrimination.
Still, transitioning from TikTok to professional sets isn’t always smooth. Young directors must learn to work with clients, manage crews, and adapt their fast-paced style to more structured formats. But many are doing just that—bringing with them a bold, contemporary voice that reflects today’s Egypt: loud, diverse, creative, and unapologetically local.
