Modelling is much more than the serenity you see in photos; it consumes both physical and mental effort, which is why models must prepare well before shoots.

If you’re a model, aspiring to become one, or just wish to maintain a healthy lifestyle, then this article is for you! The tips and tricks provided are by up-and-coming Egyptian model Angie Fateen.

1.     Keep Healthy Snacks with You

Always have veggies and fruit on the day of a shoot; it will keep your energy levels up, and at the same time, you won’t get bloated. Remember, your meals should be light at first and get heavier throughout the day.

Start your day with warm water and lemon, then have a juice for an energy boost. For lunch, go for a salad, and include protein in your dinner. Finally, if you have a sweet tooth, go for organic dark chocolate.

2.     Keep a Hair Serum with You

Your hair gets a lot of heat, so to protect it, bring your own heat serum with you, and applying the suitable hair oils on the night before a shoot. Also, weekly hair masks do wonders for your hair! Always try new ones until you find the perfect mask for your hair.

3.     Stay hydrated

Make sure you drink enough water throughout the day, keep fresh juices with you too.

4.     Practice Yoga

Release the tension and stress by doing some yoga. Spending an entire day in heels and wearing tight corsets can take its toll, so release all of this tension and relax your muscles by practising yoga or doing some stretches.

5.     Exercise Four times a Week

Four to five days of workouts per week is the ideal amount of physical exercise; it will help you maintain a healthy heart, a toned body, and a perfect shape. Make sure your muscle exercises are divided equally, and pay attention to every part of your body.

Of course, it differs from one body shape to another and your level of endurance. Modelling doesn’t put any criteria on what your body shape must be; all bodies are accepted and loved.

6.     Maintain a Skin and Hair Care Routine

Get your skin and hair used to a care routine and include it in your self-care day! Experiment with different methods, products, and oils until you settle on the perfect routine for your hair skin.  Of course, sunscreen and toners should always be a part of your routine, moisturisers and scrubs too.

7.     Keep the Positive Attitude

Meditation does wonders for your energy; it’s a natural booster and mood balancer! Always give yourself the time to reflect on everything, soak in on a nice hot bath and pamper yourself at home. Call it your ‘You Time’ and make the best of it.
