Whether taking a planned 10-day getaway to the North Coast or a last-minute weekend relaxation to Sokhna, the Eid Al-Adha holiday is one of life’s greatest pleasures. Of course, we all have different reasons for escaping the city, but no trip is complete unless you meet an equally unusual mix of people along the way. So, let us tell you the types of travellers you will come across wherever you go!

1-     The Complainer

There must always be one person who complains about everything during the holiday. Everything about their stay is awful: the heat, size of their room, quality of the food, and inability to communicate with the locals if they are abroad. You can count on this person to find something to complain about at any given time. And when they return home, they’ll undoubtedly write a detailed critique of their experience on TripAdvisor.

When they see something appealing, they whip out their phones and start snapping shots with various filters and angles before taking the time to appreciate the scene. Every 30 seconds, they upload a photo showing where they are. Whether it’s a selfie taken from a beach chair, a quick snapshot of the pastry they had at breakfast, or a picture of an unfamiliar city alleyway enhanced with a pastel filter, these folks adore taking photos and posting them online!

3-     The Negotiator

As soon as a group sets off on a trip together, everyone has an opinion, and nobody is willing to budge an inch until the group’s designated negotiator begins making decisions based on logic and the majority’s will. The negotiators are typically the group’s go-to peacemakers, even when not on vacation.

4-     The Lobster

We’re sure everyone has experienced this at least once. A frequent mistake is falling asleep in the sun without applying or reapplying sunblock. You can’t help but feel bad for the unfortunate traveller as you look at their red-raw skin and noticeable white strap marks. You know that in the morning, they will be in so much agony!

5-     The Carpe Diem

They may sound like the schedulers, but their energy is entirely different. Despite being on vacation, these travellers certainly aren’t resting easy. Around 7 AM, when you are still asleep, they are already enjoying the morning at the pool. And by the time you finally make it to the breakfast buffet, they are two-thirds of the way into their beach read!

6-     The Scheduler

They are the most well-prepared vacationers out there, with every trip meticulously planned in advance. Schedulers typically have limited time and want to maximise their experience, so they cram as much as possible into their itinerary. They don’t simply do some cursory Google search on the locations beforehand; they get into deep research mode as if it were for a thesis!

7-     The Work-Dedicated

These people may be vacationers, but they aren’t in any way travelling for a relaxing break. Their trip might as well be for business because they constantly use their laptops and earbuds to make phone calls. But it is nice to finish work-from-home tasks in a serene place. You will most likely spot them doing the same, though in less-casual clothes, in coffee shops when they are not on vacation.
