Breakfast: for many, the most important day of the meal; for others – including yours truly – the most delicious. There are plenty of reasons to complain about having grown up in this part of the world, but one thing we can’t complain about is the region’s food, especially when it comes to breakfast, which is why Tamara Lebanese Bistro has launched a breakfast menu, exclusive to the popular restaurant’s Cairo Festival City branch.

Served between 10PM and 12PM, the menu is simple and to the point – like breakfast should be – and boasts the kind of Levantine dishes that are familiar to the Egyptian palate, but with that subtle touch of Lebanese flair. Think Lebanese falafels (yum), manakeesh (yum, yum), foul with hummus (yum, yum, yum) and more, including a selection of sweet dishes too, like areesh with honey.

Since opening in 2012, Tamara Lebanese Bistro has been one of the most popular Lebanese restaurants in Cairo, managing to win Cairo 360 Editors’ Choice Awards in both 2014 and 2015 – which is an achievement considering the increasing number of Lebanese eateries in Egypt’s capital.
