And so here were again, with another busy Sahel weekend on the horizon. As always, there’s no shortage of options when it comes the drinkin’ and dancin’ rituals, but the crown jewel of nightlife on the North Coast, 6IX Degrees, has some rather tasty events waiting.

This weekend, there’s a little bit of something for everyone, with things kicking-off with the legendary Hakim. Returning almost exactly one year on from tearing the house down last summer at 6IX Degrees, it might be sold out, but the seasoned singer sets the tone for much more to come.

Friday sees belly-dancing queen, Maya Maghraby, take centre-stage for what’s shaping up to be a particularly hot and heavy edition of Friday Heat – and if Maya’s previous appearances at 6IX Degrees are anything to go by, this one is certainly not to miss.

Things ends on a particularly poppy note on Saturday, meanwhile, with 6IX Degrees favourite, DJ Lyon Avakian, in the driver’s seat for Top of the Pops; a night of all your favourite new and old, Arabic and western, pop tunes – maybe even one or two of those guilty pleasure songs that you’d never admit is you ‘jam’.
