One could argue that nightlife in Cairo is at its best right now, as new bars continue to open – and stay open. But one impending arrival in particular has partygoers licking their lips – Iris.
The international popular venue, which some of you might have visited in Beirut, is set to land in Cairo in October and there are big plans afoot for the grand opening. While most new bars tend to put-together a star-studded, influencer-heavy open bar party to mark their arrival, Iris is going sever steps further.
Taking advantage of ‘Sahel Season’, Iris will host an all-day beach party at Marassi on Friday 12th of August, because, well, why the heck not?
But the folk at Iris aren’t resting on the laurels of sun, sea and sand to make their spectacular opening a hit – they’ve also drafted in some pretty tasty bookings for the day, including German DJ and producer, Robert Babicz, set to headline. Also on the line-up is Babicz’s compatriot, David Hasert, as well as Cairo’s own Mo Kamal.
The cherry on top of this ice-cream sundae of an event is a special show from Ibiza collective, Goreperformance – a team of like-minded, fashion-savvy and oh so sexy performers who tap into the more experimental side of ‘dance couture’ – you have to see it to really understand it.
In addition, Iris has put its best mixologists forward for the party, where they will be whipping up some of the bar’s infamous signature cocktails, all to the backdrop of what promises to be the perfect mixture of sophisticated nightlife that Iris will bring to Cairo and the kind of beachside shenanigans that a day at Marrasi demands.
