Mevlevi Night

In honour of the homecoming of the father of Arab Mevlevi mysticism, Darwish Hussein Suleiman, a spectacular ceremony is being planned. The theme of the event, "The Religion of Love," is the idea that love is a universal idea that goes beyond any one religion or philosophy. There will be Mevlevi chants, poems by Jalaluddin Rumi and Hallaj, and a chance to immerse yourself in the mysticism of the Mevlevi tradition.
Throughout the Mevlevi Night of Divine Revelation, followers of the Mevlevi school of Sufism gather to contemplate the mysteries of their faith and explore them through poetry. For more info, click here.
Alaa ElShiekh’s Special: High on pain at Theatro Arkan

An original comedy special by Alaa ElShiekh, "High on Pain," will be shown for the first time at Theatro Arkan Plaza. Alaa el Sheikh's funny performance hits home with Egyptians of all ages, but especially the country's youth. Alaa, a man of the 1980s, will likely draw on his own life for hilarious effect.
