Sometimes, someone creates something beautiful and unique, something worth mentioning and appreciating. So, since UN Arabic Language Day was only a few days ago, on the 18th of this month, we ought to tell you all about a particular project that grabbed our attention.

Alexandria-based Mahmoud Tammam, an architect and graphic designer, made a significant contribution to Arabic Language Day by creating art using our beautiful language, while also facilitating the learning process for people who wish to familiarise themselves with Arabic.

The experimental typography project transformed Arabic words into illustrations conveying each word’s meaning, which eventually results in a work of art. Tammam created a total of 40 illustrated words, and he told boredpanda.com that he started this project as a personal challenge; luckily for him, he is earning international recognition for it!

Take a look at some of his stuff!
