What is The 2024 Diploma Programme?

The Jameel House of Traditional Arts in Cairo is now accepting applications for its 2024 intake for the two-year diploma programme, offered in collaboration with The King's Foundation School of Traditional Arts. Graduates of this programme will receive a foundation certificate from The King's Foundation School of Traditional Arts in London. They will gain a thorough understanding of traditional arts and their practical applications, opening doors to careers in the arts, heritage conservation, architectural preservation, and creative industries.

 

How to Apply?

Do you have a knack for arts and are ready to apply? If this diploma is what you seek, then make sure to submit a completed application form and your portfolio in person at the Jameel House in Cairo before the deadline on August 24th. Its working hours are Sundays to Thursdays from 10 am to 3 pm. If you are one of the lucky applicants selected for the next round of the process, you will be required to complete an entry exam and an interview later on.

 

About The Jameel House of Traditional Arts

Nestled in the historic district of Old Cairo at the Fustat Center for Traditional Arts and Crafts, the Jameel House programme is dedicated to preserving local cultural heritage. It offers field trips to significant monuments and hands-on design projects. Even after graduation, The Jameel House supports its graduates in finding employment or starting businesses in traditional arts. Astonishingly, around 20 students graduate each year and join an active alum network that includes an annual exhibition.

The Jameel House of Traditional Arts in Cairo is a leading educational institution that teaches traditional Islamic geometry, drawing, colour harmony, and arabesque studies, along with specialised training in ceramics, glass, gypsum, metalwork, and woodwork. The two-year diploma programme awarded by The King's Foundation School is developed by The Prince's Foundation School. It adheres to the same high standards as the postgraduate courses at its London campus.
