Egyptian superstar, Mahmoud El Esseily, is best known for his distinctive voice, and more importantly, his relatable songs. We’d have to say, throughout his career, he’s made some smart choices when it comes to his discography, and we believe these are the reasons behind his popularity and success.
So, to celebrate his birthday, we decided to look back at six times Esseily spoke for us through his songs.
#1 Ehsasek Eh
The song describes the happiness of a newly engaged couple on the day when the groom asks her parents for her hand. This day is one that every couple genuinely look forward to, and that’s why we can relate to the lyrics.
Ehsasek Eh was released in 2009 and was part of Tool Manty Gamby album.
#2 Msh Zay El Aflam
Anyone who’s been friend-zoned can relate to Msh Zay El Aflam’s heart-wrenching lyrics as it tells a one-sided love story. The Romeo of the tale finally realises that real-life love stories are not as charming as those in fictional movies.
Msh Zay El Aflam was released in 2009 and was also part of Tool Manty Gamby album.
#3 Dehkah
You surely smile whenever you listen to Dehkah; a song that gives ultimate positive energy. It encourages us to keep laughing regardless of any sad situations or adverse circumstances we’re experiencing.
Dehkah was released in 2012, and it is on the Donia Gededa album.
#4 Mabsoot Fi Makank
Losing a close friend is, of course, one of the hardest experiences one can ever go through. Mabsoot Fi Makank tells a story of a man who lost his friend, telling him that he’s sure he’s in a better place now. The song undoubtedly expressed all the heartache we’ve felt when we lost a loved one ourselves.
Mabsoot Fi Makank was released in 2012, and it too was on Donia Gededa album.
#5 Beit Gedety
Beit Gedety is a nostalgic song that brings us all the memories we all had at our grandmas’ places; our childhood games, Eid, the warm family gatherings, you name it.
Beit Gedety is a single that was released in 2018.
#6 Enta Te2dar
This unforgettable song radiates optimism, hope, and positive energy. It encourages us not to give up, reminding us of our capabilities and giving us hope that all our dreams will come true one day.
Enta Te2dar, featuring Mohamed Adaweya, was made for a commercial in Ramadan 2018.
Esseily’s latest song, which was released in August 2019, was Enty w Ana, featuring Aly Fathallah.
Everything aside, we wish Esseily a very happy birthday!
