It's time for the event of every year, the 81st Golden Globe Awards! The ceremony took place on January 8 and celebrated the best in television and film, with numerous standout performances and memorable moments. With that, these are the winners of the 2024 Golden Globe Awards. 

Barbie

Two new categories were established at the Golden Globes, in addition to other changes. The first category was for the best blockbuster, which was awarded to Greta Gerwig's Barbie! Also, the best original song award went to "What Was I Made For?" by Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell!

Beef

The drama "Beef," which follows the characters as they deal with the fallout from a road rage incident, earned three trophies in total: best limited series, acting, and Ali Wong and Steven Yeun. The show's creator, Lee Sung Jin, expressed gratitude to the real-life driver who served as inspiration for the story in the acceptance speech!

Succession 

As the manipulative heirs trying to inherit their father's media empire, Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook took home the male and female acting awards, respectively, for their portrayal of the characters. Matthew Macfadyen, meanwhile, was named best supporting male actor for his role as the childish man who foils their plans.

The Bear 

Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri won best leading actor and actress in a musical or comedy, best comedy series, and best supporting actor and actress, accordingly, for their performance in "The Bear," a Chicago restaurant that was fighting for survival.

Poor Things

The role of a naïve lady on a path of sexual and emotional awakening in "Poor Things" earned Emma Stone the award for best female performer in a comedy picture.

The Boy and the Heron

The Boy and the Heron, the most recent film from Hayao Miyazaki, has just made history by becoming the first anime film to win the Golden Globe for best animated Film award!

Oppenheimer

Oppenheimer's director Christopher Nolan won best director prize. The film's protagonist, a gloomy scientist, was portrayed by Cillian Murphy, who went on to win best actor in the movie. Even the film's soundtrack, which set the mood, received praise!

The Crown

Elizabeth Debicki was awarded the award for the best performance by a supporting actress in a television series, limited series, anthology series, or motion picture made for television.
