Art Cairo will host the sixth edition of its annual Art Fair at The Grand Egyptian Museum from the 8th to the 11th of February. Art Cairo represents the most significant yearly fair and collaboration of organisations, artists, and entities from the Middle East who have a common belief in art's enlightening and healing power. The fair showcases diverse artworks from different galleries and artists from MENA, displaying them next to the museum's most prominent and culturally significant landmarks.
Art Cairo Sixth Edition Carries a Message of Peace
The sixth edition of Art Cairo is themed by A Message of Peace to All Countries. The profound theme is a genuine call for peace that extends beyond words and comes from the essence of art. The theme is represented in the olive tree, as it has always been the symbol of peace.
Art Cairo commits to being a reliable platform for MENA artists, emphasising the role of Cairo as a beacon of art, creation, and innovation. Art Cairo is not just an art event but an annual gathering of anyone who believes in the life-changing message of art and knows that art is necessary to express our collective voice and shared visions.
Nizar Sabour's Artistic Residency in Cairo
In collaboration with the KAF art gallery from Beirut, Art Cairo is pleased to present the artistic residency to the prominent Syrian artist Nizar Sabour. Nizar Sabour is a visual artist who creates his paintings by using natural materials. His art is influenced by his home country and cultural background.
This residency aligns with Art Cairo's commitment to supporting creative artists and promoting cultural dialogue between Arab artists. Nizar Sabour's new art collection, Nawawes Masrya, serves as the creative endeavour of his residency. The collection redefines the concept of artistic immortality of influential figures in a unique visual style that combines modernity and heritage.
HIWAR Program: An Open Conversation for All MENA Artists
In collaboration with the Grand Egyptian Museum as a Hosting and Collateral Programming partner, Art Cairo launched the HIWAR Program, a series of curated dialogues between influential voices from across the region to open insightful and engaging discussions on the Arab contemporary art scene.
The HIWAR Program will foster an engaging conversation to explore the global impact of Middle Eastern art. Each session will feature artists, curators, critics, and cultural thought leaders discussing the connections between heritage and modernity and the roles practices, education, and institutions play in redefining the future of art in the MENA region.
