Egyptian superstar Ruby went to the top of the trending list as she made waves with her performance last weekend. Videos of her performance at the after-party of the Cairo International Film Festival’s closing ceremony went viral, and it only brought back memories of the multi-talented diva.

Ruby was the first-ever Arab artist to appear wearing a belly-dancing suit, dancing in the street in a music video. It was for her debut song Enta A’ref Leh back in 2004, directed by Sherif Sabri. At the time, she was subjected to a wave of criticism, but the clip hit the charts and was widely talked about throughout the entire Arab world.

In 2004, she made her first starring role in the movie "7 Waraqat Kotshena" with Youssef El Sherif and directed by Sherif Sabry. The film achieved wide fame for Ruby, and it's considered a breakthrough for her in the world of acting.
