"Discreet Charm of the Pillars of Society" Play at Falaki Theatre

The Discreet Charm of the Pillars of Society continues Ahmed El Attar's interest in family relationships begun in his trilogy Life is Beautiful or Waiting for My Uncle from America 2000 ( The Last Supper 2014, and Mama 2018). Instead of a single powerful family being at the focus of attention, two such families are in the spotlight this time. Both parents disapprove of their children getting married, and that's what pulls together a Syrian and a Swedish parent. A business opportunity that promises to make them even wealthier brings them together despite their mutual dislike and tense relationship.

D-CAF will be hosting "The Discreet Charm of the Pillars of Society" play as part of its Arab Arts Focus programme (AAF). Here is the play's schedule:
