After his hit album Cocktail Ghena’y and stellar collaborations, such as Qesm El Shakawy produced with Hamid El Shaeri and the feature track Fe Eineh with Disco Misr, fans have come to expect a lot from Tul8te, and he never disappoints.

Moving Forward While Keeping a Signature Style

The best artists are always looking to offer their fans what they love while staying fresh, and Tul8te is no exception. Everything we loved about the last album is present in Narein, but with an unprecedented musical flair. The intro and outro of each song are longer than those on the previous album, allowing listeners to fully immerse themselves in the song’s mood and appreciate the musical progression. This is most prominent in the title track, Narein.

Overflowing Musical Bliss

The rollout of the album is seamless. Each song transports the listener to the next, ready for the new theme and mood of each song. Musically speaking, each song’s style is distinct, ranging from a heavy emphasis on percussion to acoustic elements, with a blend of upbeat and melancholic music. All this is under an overarching theme that holds the album together neatly. Oyoun El Nas, featuring Amir Eid, is a treat no one saw coming.

Habeeby Da Video, a Masterpiece of Details

The album ties together perfectly as a whole and with previous songs as well, and the most prominent manifestation of this is Habeeby Da video. The video tells the story of a little boy who had a crush on a girl on vacation but never got around to confessing to her. It ends with the boy, grown up to be Tul8te, carrying a memento from that time with him to the stage, with Narein playing in the background.

The title of this track, Narein, references Hesham Abbas’s iconic song of the same name. As the reference to Amr Diab’s movie Ice Cream Fih Gleem are apparent in the video of Habeeby Leh, the reference to Hesham Abbas’s song are also evident through the title track and Habeeby Da. These connections preserve Tul8te’s beloved theme of reviving late ’90s and early 2000s music, and we’re all here for it.

As always, Tul8te gives his listeners an unmatched musical experience, featuring deep, haunting lyrics and love within this lovely spectrum of an album.
