In 2008, the Twilight Saga began with its first movie, changing the world’s perspective on vampires! Seeing a teenage love story between a human and a vampire was something new. At that time, people (especially girls) were divided into two teams: Team Edward and Team Jacob. Remember that phase? It was cringeworthy, we know! So, how about we imagine a remake of the blockbuster saga with the following Egyptian actors?
Ahmed Malek as Edward Cullen
The supposedly-teenage pale vampire Edward Cullen is, by far, the most famous fictional vampire who we all loved at some point before collectively realising that he’s cringeworthy! While writing this, we kept trying to find an Egyptian celebrity who gives off the Edward vibe, and we definitely thought it’s Ahmed Malek! Can you imagine him looking pale and being protective over Bella 24/7? We think he would rock this!

Jamila Awad as Bella Swan
One of Egypt’s young talents, Jamila Awad, can definitely give the chill vibe of Bella Swan, right? Imagining her driving a van and walking around the school campus with her baggy clothes, we know for a fact that our sweet Jamila Awad is undoubtedly the best choice for this role. She would be a suitable partner for Ahmed Malek, as we have seen them as a couple once and want to see them together again!

Nour El-Nabawy as Jacob Black
The newest star in the acting game, Nour El-Nabawy, can get the girls to root for Team (Egyptian) Jacob! The casting makes sense, too, as Twilight’s beloved werewolf is as charismatic and charming as our dear actor is. Of course, another thing we’d want to see with this casting is the ferocious competition between Ahmed Malek and Nour El-Nabawy—who would you be rooting for?

Rahma Hassan as Alice Cullen
Rahma Hassan is one of the sweetest actresses in Egypt, right? We all loved her as Bahira in Shahir W Bahir and as Hala in Sabe’ Gar! Just like Alice Cullen, she gives off an innocent girly vibe, so we think playing this character would be a piece of cake for her. We can see her being Jamila Awad’s friend, can’t we?

Cherif Hafez as Jasper Hale
After seeing Cherif Hafez’s character in Rag’een Ya Hawa, we now believe he can portray evil like never before! The character of Jasper Hale was a newborn vampire who had a hard time controlling his cravings around Bella, so we know we’re not crazy when we imagine Cherif Hafez walking around looking all tense and controlling people’s emotions. What do you think?

Reem Moustafa as Rosalie Hale
Unlike Reem Moustafa, the character of Rosalie is cynical, bitter, and not exactly a ray of sunshine. Yet, we think Reem has an appraisable acting range that can bring Rosalie Hale to life! Also, we imagine that she can ace the character development of Alice, who keeps meddling with Bella and Edward’s lives, eventually reaching an emotional clarity and sympathy towards Bella

Khaled Selim as Emmet Cullen
Who’s a better fit for a late 2000s heartthrob than an early 2000s heartthrob? No one, which is why we thought the perfect fit for Emmet Cullen is Khaled Selim! Just think about him in Sana Ola Nasb and Kan Youm Hobak, and you’ll get it.
