It’s been one year since this iconic comedy piece was released, and we certainly miss it! Maktoub Alayya! was undoubtedly one of the best shows of the Ramadan 2022 drama marathon that had everyone talking about it for weeks. The story revolves around Galal, who meets someone who wipes his arm with a magical substance from a bottle of musk after a brief conversation. The next day, Galal discovers that his day’s events are written on his arms ahead of time, and he gets into serious trouble as a result. This happens to him every day for weeks, placing him in the most bizarre yet comic situations!

We haven’t seen something this crazy on Western TV, which is why we will reimagine Maktoub Alayya! if played by Hollywood actors!

1-     Galal (Jonah Hill)

Galal is a depressing music teacher whose life was miraculously altered by magic. His life is turned upside down as keywords from his day appear supernaturally written on his arm, forcing him to decipher the meanings of the words and figure out how to put them to use. Akram Hosni rocked this hilarious character, but we think Hollywood comic Jonah Hill could give Galal a new perspective.

2-     Salma (Emma Stone)

Salma is Galal’s love interest whom he meets in a bank where she works. Fate and the words inscribed on his arms bring the two closer together, putting them in several crazy situations. Hanadi Mehana portrayed this adorable character, and the Amazing Spider-Man’s Mary Jane can play an excellent Salma, too, to accompany Galal on his strange adventures!

3-     Roqaya (Selena Gomez)

Roqaya is Galal’s cousin, who is deeply in love with him. She is willing to do anything to be with him, and fate gives her a chance when they get married, despite Galal’s grievance over the relationship. Ayten Amer played this chaotic character to perfection, and we can’t help but think that Selena Gomez looks much like Egypt’s sweetheart and can pull off being Galal’s nosy cousin and wife!

4-     Badwy (Alec Baldwin)

Badwy is a dangerous man with money and power that is always eager for more. He crosses paths with Galal, who, with his magical arm, starts to guide him through life and help him keep his business running. One of Egypt’s favourites, Amr Abdel Gelel, is the man behind the mischievous Badwy, and Alec Baldwin has the acting skills to fit in this hilarious character!

5-     Ihsan (Stanley Tucci)

Ihsan is Galal’s father, who always judges his son’s life and actions. He does nothing but criticise his boy and make his life difficult but in the funniest way possible! The role of Ihsan is played by veteran Ismaiel Farghaly whom we feel closely resembles Stanley Tucci and can play the character of an unsatisfied father.
