Wakanda Forever’s release reminds us how much we love the Marvel Cinematic Universe and its incredibly diverse characters. The universe continues to expand into new worlds and parallel “multiverses,” and for this week’s recast, we’re reimagining what it would look like to have an Avengers composed of Egyptian superheroes. So, let us recast five of our favourite avengers with Egyptian actors who have the ‘super’ skills and charisma needed for Marvel!

1-     Thor (Amr Youssef)

Before the arrival of the MCU, Thor was the best-known Asgardian God and the biggest heavy hitter of the Avenger comics. Few superpowers could compare to Thor’s legendary Mjolnir.

The superhero continues to be more popular than his powered peers, thanks to Chris Hemsworth’s charismatic involvement in the MCU. When we imagine an Egyptian Thor, the bulky blonde and equally charming Amr Youssef instantly comes to mind!

2-     Doctor Strange (Feras Saeed)

Doctor Strange is another Avenger who has a solid claim for being the most liked. His ability to alter reality allows him to transport to other galaxies and multiverses, and the superhero’s role in the Avengers’ victory over formidable foes is significant. Fans also enjoy the mystique surrounding Strange, whose research on the Mystic Arts frequently uncovers insights about the nature of reality.

We thought long and hard about which Egyptian actor could play this in-depth character, portrayed by the one-and-only Benedict Cumberbatch, and we can’t shake the idea that the mysterious Feras Saeed would make an amazing Doctor Strange!

3-     Wanda Maximoff (Menna Shalaby)

Given that Wanda Maximoff’s emotional state is the focus of her storyline, Scarlet Witch brilliantly succeeds in making the all-powerful figure seem incredibly humane. The superhero continuously tries to find harmony among the other almighty Avengers who also lead regular lives.

When fully unleashed, Scarlet Witch proves she is capable of being a one-woman army. We believe the insanely talented Menna Shalaby could take this complicated and emotionally driven role to another level with her similarly effortless yet brilliant acting.

4-     Ant-Man (Mohamed Imam)

Ant-Man, Scott Lang, takes a lighter and more careless approach to his superhero duties. However, he is still a vital member of the Avengers; following his involvement in the ‘Quantum Realm,’ the superhero plays his part in saving the Marvel world in End Game. Paul Rudd portrays this character like no other, and we think our beloved Mohamed Imam could nail the lazy yet gets-the-work-done superhero to a tee.

5-     Captain America (Dhafer Abdeen)

That Captain America is commonly portrayed as the Avengers’ commander shows how well-suited he is for the position. It is safe to say that Chris Evans’ casting for the role influenced the hero’s tranquil composure based on the actor’s similar virtues of character and compassion.

While he lacks the typical superhero edge, Captain America is well-liked for his unwavering resolve and ability to maintain harmony among the Avengers. Steve Rogers consistently raises the bar for how much of a difference a good guy can make in the world. And we think the Tunisian actor Dhafer Adeen is the ideal choice to play this virtuous character! We know we’re cheating with this recast as the actor isn’t Egyptian, but he might as well be considering how many Egyptian movies and shows he’s starred in!
