Now that all that sun, sea and sand malarkey is over and done with, our fix of music, nightlife and general shenanigan-inciting now lies in Cairo. There's no need to feel deflated, though, because things getting off to a big start this weekend with local event organiser, Cochlea.

Last time we saw Mahmou Moodz and the Cochlea clan, they were booking some of the city's most unique acts for their series, LastBreath and this time round, Moodz is stepping out from behind the scenes for the debut of Bruit d'Hélice - a collaboration between him and French-Egyptian DJ, Charlie Edmond.

The eagle-eyed amongst you - or eagle-eared - will have got to know the twosome from CG Tunes, where several of their sets have been featured. The duo were also recently featured on Grainy London; a platform that invites DJs to post their work anonymously, all in the name of taking the labels and expectations off of music.

Taking place on Thursday 7th September at The Garden Nile Front, Moodz and Edmond are joined on the line-up by globe-trotting queen of the underground, Zeina, and versatile up-and-comer, Mazen Hamdy, who has been turning heads with his seamless blending of everything from tech and deep house, to downtempo and electronica.
