Attention, photography fans, pros and Instagram addicts! On November 12, the three-day Egyptian Photo Summit will give you the opportunity to connect with the industry’s leading professionals, attend workshops, and view some of 2016’s most groundbreaking photography by Egyptians.

Why is this a big deal? Because it’s the largest get-together of its kind in Egypt that focuses on both the art and industry of photography, and will feature over 25 workshops and lectures that promise to help you develop your style and advance if you’re hoping to start a career as a photographer or videographer.

Launched in 2014, EPS will take place at the GrEEK Campus in Downtown Cairo and starts on Saturday, November 12 at 11AM and continues until Monday, November 14. Tickets cost 300LE for the full three days and can be booked online via Virgin Megastores or at any of these Cairo-based locations.

An added bonus is the November 15 Photo Camp; a three-day photography workshop run by photographer Ahmad Hayman in Cairo and Fayoum’s Tunis Village for 1500LE including transportation and camp accommodation.

As one of the summit's guest speakers, Hayman is in good company; the speakers list features professionals from a wide range of photography fields. Among them is wedding photographer, Fadi Gwanny, fine art photographer, Mohamed Gabr, celebrity and advertising photographer Steve Double, commercial photographer Nour El Refai, conceptual photographer, Ahmed Al Abi, and filmmaker, Abi Naguib, but to name a few.

While the workshops’ schedules have yet to be announced, you can register online via this link, while the event’s Facebook page will keep you updated on the latest news.

Aside from rubbing shoulders with big names and attending workshops, the summit will also give you the opportunity to present your portfolio or photos to said  big names for critique and review, and you’ll also get to browse the gear booths, showcasing the biggest photography brands in case you need to invest in a new lens or camera body. Aside from the promised photography exhibition, EPS will also host Shutter Crowd - what they call the biggest shooting open area in Egypt.
