Sometime in 2013, Peter Matta had a lightbulb moment; it wasn’t an ingenious idea that came to him (that came later), but more a moment of clarity – an epiphany, if you will, that simply told him to follow his passions.
Out of said epiphany came Beit Matta – a brand that, over the following two years or so, has become one of the most unique product design names around. So in demand are Matta’s colourful goods, that they are available in El Gouna, Cairo and now even Sahel and, even more impressively, on the dreamy island of Mykonos.
Taking a spot in exquisite home decor showroom, DECORD, Matta’s elegant yet simple collection fit the Mykonos aesthetic like the proverbial glove.
The collection in question is the suitably named Resort Collection and you’ll find it strewn across social media under the hashtag #BeitMattaInMykonos.
Closer to home, however, Beit Matta has spread its wings and headed north, to Sahel, where it’s available at KALLA, located opposite Diplo, Sidi Abdel Rahman (km 126).
The Candy Collection (a personal favourite at Cairo Gossip, because, well, candy) sees Matta exercise the more colourful and mischievous side of his creative output.
Time to redecorate? Yeah, do it. Check out more on Beit Matta on Facebook and Instagram, or better yet, check out our interview with the man behind it all here.
