Christmas is so close that I can already taste the sandwiches I'm going to make with the leftover turkey and with that comes another festive fete at Cairo Jazz Club.

The celebrations kick off on Christmas Eve with CJC's annual charity bash, where all proceeds will go to local charity, Helm, which works at improving the lives of thousands of disabled people in Egypt. Baby It's Cold Outside is set to welcome two of the country's hottest bands in FUNK Off and the Cadillacs, before the fun continues on Christmas day with the suitably named Three Wise Men.

Said wise men come in the form of three of Cairo's top DJs, as Aguizi & Fahim and Mohasseb take to the decks on what is sure to be a typically messy (in the best way possible) night.

There is of course a little thing called New Year's Eve on the horizon, too, and CJC are recruiting the considerable talents of Hussein Fahmy, Nader Tahawy and Fairouz T. for Tickle Your Fancy, which puts a little more spin on proceedings than usual. With a sexy, sleek, burlesque-esque (try saying that ten times really fast) dress code, the open bar event - yes, open bar - will round off another huge year for the award-winning venue, which still stands as king of the nightlife mountain, thanks to its increasingly large variety of music and entertainment.
