Riverside has garnered a reputation for its wide-reaching and creative DJ bookings as of late and Thursday 23rd of April is no exception. The  Zamalek resto-bar continue its hot-streak in one of the highlight events of the weekend as Italian duo, JazzyFunk, prepare to headline a special edition of popular weekly series, Riverdeep, that will also see one of our personal favourite DJs in Cairo, Mohasseb.

Don’t be fooled by their 90s boy-band appearance, though; Macs Cortella & Filippo Perbellini are as unique a duo as you can get. Cortella is the DJ and producer of the duo, while Perbellini takes care of vocals and other instruments – what this amounts to is some of the most unique live performances you’ll see by an EDM act.

With indie dance, nu disco and deep house being JazzyFunk’s weapons of choice, the tag-team have been known to get experimental with the genres; the twosome often mix live vocals, keyboards, electronic drums with loops and samples. It’s an approach that has seen them acquire a cult following for their energy on stage, interaction with the crowd and customised performances – in short, expect the unexpected.
