It's been a long wait, but details for the the Student DJ 2014 finale have, at long last, been announced by Electrum Records - hurrah! Set to be held at the Temple on Thursday 5th of March, the final will see Gaser El Safty, who happens to be the Assistant Editor at our sister website Cairo 360, and Nour Fahmy go head-to-head for the crown, but the line-up features plenty more.

Hisham Zahran is set to open the night, while Norwegian DJ, Finnebassen, and German DJ, H.O.S.H, close what has been a hard-fought competition.

Zahran needs no introduction, of course, while those unfamiliar with Finnebassen can expect what his bio on Resident Advisor describes as 'dirty, melancholic house music'. At the age of twenty-five, the Norwegian is hot property in Europe and many a critic has praised his understanding of music (he's also a keen guitarist) which makes him one of the best young EDM producers around.

H.U.S.H., meanwhile, is veteran of the DJ game. As a pillar of German record label, DIYNAMIC, H.O.S.H. is one of the most active and prolific figures in EDM in Germany, having also organised several big EDM events and festivals in his homeland, championing young DJs and producer - a fitting headliner and judge for the finale.

But what of the final itself? Well, it's a general consensus that El Safty and Fahmy are worthy finalists whom many considered favourites from the outset. Who does Cairo Gossip think will win? It's going to be close, but we have to back our boy Gaser.
