Proving that Egypt is still relevant on the world stage, award-winning documentary, 'The Square', will today be released in selected cinemas in the US.
Directed by Cairo-born Harvard graduate, Jehane Noujaim - and featuring actor, Khaled Abdallah - the documentary follows six individuals, all representing different views, positions and motivations during the January 25th Revolution.
The release caps off a great a 2013 for Noujaim and co; earlier this year, the film won the People's Choice Award for Best Documentary at the Toronto International Film Festival as well as the Audience Award for World Cinema - Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival.
It's a great achievement for everyone involved but I'm not particularly hopeful of 'Al Midan' coming to Cairo cinemas anytime soon.
