Nelly w Sherihan became a classic comedy show in Egyptian households over the ten years since it first aired. It’s funny, endlessly rewatchable, and suitable for the whole family. With the recent wave of nostalgia for 2016, everyone is now even more excited about the news that a second season is in the works. Let’s take a trip down memory lane to remember why we loved it so much the first time around, as well as everything we know so far about Season 2.
Everything We Love About Nelly w Sherihan

The show is a rare example of unbelievably creative punchlines and unmatched chemistry between its cast. Donia and Emy Samir Ghanem bring their unique sibling energy to the show, making their interactions extremely relatable. Nelly and Sherihan are the original material for the Egypt vs Masr meme, which reaches its climax in the dingy hotel scene where Nelly is meditating, and Sherihan thinks she’s possessed by a jinn.
Mohamed Sallam and Mustafa Khater are another iconic duo who feed off each other’s comedic abilities. Their polar opposite characters complement each other and make for excellent situational comedy. Together, they created an unforgettable dynamic that can always make us laugh while being unexpectedly relatable. And who can forget Salwa Khattab’s iconic character, Khalto Sabah? Don’t we all wish for someone like her to have our backs?
An Unbreakable Bond
Even though Nelly and Sherihan had a rough start together, their friendship slowly but surely blossomed. Through countless funny and tough situations, we see them grow closer, reminding us of our own friendships and family bonds. Their friendship showed us that, despite being different, everyone brings something to the table, and the love we share with our friends and family encompasses all these differences.
An Iconic Theme Song

Music stays in the collective memory more than anything else, and the theme song of Nelly w Sherihan is no different. It’s catchy and keeps replaying in your head. It was particularly popular with small children at family gatherings during Ramadan 2016, when they would put on shows for their families while singing along to it.
Everything We Know So Far About the New Season
Filming is set to start this September, with the intention of airing during Ramadan 2027, as has become tradition for Nelly w Sherihan. Director Karim El Sobky recently made the announcement, declaring that more details will be revealed gradually as casting is finalised.
We’re excited to see the iconic sibling duo back on screen together and hoping to see the rest of the legendary cast return for the new season. What are your expectations for the second season? Do you think it can rival the first one, or even do better? We’re all wondering the same thing and can’t wait to find out.
