Food is an evolving art; people have always sought new and improved ways to cook their meals. Creativity is one essential key to improving a dish that people already know and love, and taking risks is essential. You have to walk the very thin line between creative and nauseating, because even a single ingredient can ruin the dish if misused. Here are some of the wackiest food creations we saw in 2025, and you can be the judge on whether they are yummy or yucky.

Pistachio Fuul from JACU

Fuul, or fava beans, is one of the most essential dishes in Egypt. It is delicious, filling and healthy. What's not to love? It is mainly eaten during Ramadan to help combat hunger during the day, but JACU decides to add their own twist. By adding pistachio sauce to their signature fuul medames dish, many people were torn between calling it a stroke of brilliance or mumbo jumbo.

Dubai Chocolate Fries from Kansas Fried Chicken

In 2025, the Dubai chocolate trend was all people could talk about for a while. A bar of chocolate filled with kunafa and pistachio. What's not to love? The unexpected part came when Kansas Fried Chicken added a Dubai chocolate sauce option to their fries. Many people like the mixing of savoury and sweet, while others feel it takes the trend too far.

Blueberry Burger from Hunger Station

Burgers are at the top of the list of comfort foods that almost everyone loves. They are constantly evolving as well, with people adding cheeses, eggs, onion rings, and even truffles. What is unique is when someone adds a fruit to a burger, and that is what Hunger Station did. They decided to use the tartness of the blueberries to cut through the burger's richness, creating a blast of flavour.

Crème Brûlée Pizza from Ted's

Who doesn't love pizza? It's beloved by people of all ages and is always a great choice. But when someone decides to add crème brûlée to the mix, it is shocking to say the least. Ted's decided to introduce their crème brûlée pizza in 2025, a release that was met with enthusiasm and scepticism. The thin crust gave it a filling texture, while the crispy torched sugar on top made it into a delicacy you can only enjoy after your meal.

Ice Cream Fried Chicken Sandwich from Crispy Hen

We've all had the brilliant idea to mix two types of food that everyone loves, right? Well, Crispy Hen decided to give it a shot, too. They put a scoop of vanilla ice cream on a fried-chicken patty inside a sandwich. A move some may call crazy, and some may call genius. If you ever wanted to satisfy more than one craving at the same time, Crispy Hen had you covered.
