Summer is almost over, and it’s soon-to-be time to say BYE BYE BYE to all our favourite summer hits (and by that, we mean Deadpool & Wolverine, of course). That being said, this fall season is treading with delightful cinematic gifts. We have got fantastic sequels, anticipated reboots, and more! Let us tell you what to expect in the theatres in the upcoming months.
1- Joker: Folié à Duex (October 3rd)
This fan favourite and former most-grossing R-rated film of all time (till Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman snatched the title) is back with a vengeance. The sequel to Joker, starring Oscar winners Joaquín Phoenix and Lady Gaga, will have a musical sense of the epic love story of Batman’s arch-nemesis, Joker, and his beloved Harley Quinn. So, costumes this Halloween are expected to be legendary!
2- Smile 2 (October 17th)
Get ready for the most thrilling ride of the year in Smile 2! As global pop sensation Skye Riley (Naomi Scott) gears up for her highly anticipated world tour, she is suddenly thrust into a whirlwind of spine-chilling and unexplainable events. Each day, the terrors intensify, pushing Skye to her breaking point as she battles the crushing weight of fame. To reclaim her life and sanity, she must confront her haunting past and unravel a dark mystery before it consumes her completely. 3- Venom: The Last Dance (October 24th)
Spiderman’s alien foe, Venom, is expected to return for a 3rd instalment of its stand-alone anti-hero successful movie trilogy. Veteran actor Tom Hardy, who plays Eddie Broc/Venom, promises the audience a bang finale to the story of Eddie and Venom. We last saw them in Marvel Spiderman: No Way Home’s post-credit scene. Does that mean that Hardy’s Venom is finally coming to the MCU? We have to wait and see!
4- Gladiator II (November 14th)
The epic, Oscar-winning film of 2000 is coming back for a sequel 24 years later! The unforgettable saga of Ancient Rome’s Gladiator, Maximus, and his fight for justice doesn’t end with his death. The great Riddley Scott is set to deliver a part 2 like no other, with the superstars Denzel Washington and Pedro Pascal to lead and Connie Nielsen and D’jimon Honsou to return from the original.
5- Moana 2 (November 28th)
The long-awaited sequel to Disney’s smash hit, Moana, is coming to the theatres this fall for all the family to enjoy. This authentic celebration of culture and nature is bound to be as incredible as the first one, with Dwayne Johnson set to reprise his voice-acting role as the awesome Maui!
