2023 has been jam-packed with many significant events that we haven’t had enough time to catch our breath yet. We’ve been looking for a fun way to unwind this summer, and we believe we’ve found the perfect event! In August, a festival will take place dedicated to the mango, the royal fruit of Egypt’s summer produce. On the 18th and 19th of August, we will enjoy the second annual Ismailia Mango Festival. Allow us to tell you all about it!

To start the festivities, the event will feature a parade from 5 to 6:30 PM on August 18. The roadshow will consist mainly of drives through Ismailia in mango-shaped vehicles to drum up excitement, with live performances, games, competitions, and other forms of entertainment rounding off the celebration.
Afterwards, the procession will conclude at 6:00 PM, when a small exhibition and bazaar will open in El Gulf Club until 10:30 PM. At the same time, the Open Market in Ismailia’s Public Park will have a comprehensive display of the city’s mangos, including all varieties from this year’s crop, on the 18th and 19th of August.

Seven of Egypt’s ambassadors attended the festival in Ismailia to support local vendors and cultivation last year. After the very successful Spring and Strawberry Festivals, the concept for the Mango Festival was hatched, and the governorate immediately worked together to get the first edition out the door.
A Love Letter to Local Farmers

The local merchants and farmers who work so hard to produce the highest quality mangoes also deserve our support and gratitude for this special festival. Beyond the fun and activities, the celebration has a deeper meaning. Each succulent bite of mango is a moment to give thanks to the farmers and farmworkers who worked so diligently to bring this gorgeous fruit to our tables!
